Orthokeratology – Ortho-K – is Effective for the Treatment of Myopia (Nearsightedness), Hyperopia, and Astigmatism.
Non-Invasive and Non-Surgical
The process of Orthokeratology involves using specialized contact lenses to reshape your cornea. As your cornea changes shape, refractive errors that cause myopia/hyperopia/astigmatism are corrected.
Overnight Treatments Are Effective and Convenient
Patients following our orthokeratology program wear their corrective lenses at night while they are sleeping. Because of this, they are generally not required to wear corrective lenses during the day.
Vision Correction in Just 2-3 Weeks
Your cornea will undergo a period of rapid adaptation once you begin following the treatment program- typically within a few hours or days.
After 2-3 weeks your cornea will have completed its full adaptation. Ongoing treatment will ensure long-lasting vision correction.
Over 90% of Qualified Candidates for Ortho-K See Improvement to 20/40 or Better
When treatment is maintained, over 65% of patients achieve 20/20 eyesight again. The vast majority achieve at least 20/40, which is the minimum necessary for driving without the aid of corrective lenses like glasses or contacts.
