Dr. Truong was born and raised in a small town in Ontario. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science from University of Waterloo, she went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston, MA.
She has gained valuable experience through her clinical rotations in hospital, speciality, private, and community health centre settings. She has worked in areas of ocular disease, speciality contact lenses, dry eye, pediatrics, vision therapy, concussion/TBI, OD/OMD co-management, and primary care. During her time in optometry school, she was involved in several extracurricular activities including her role as Past President of Canadian Association of Optometry Students (CAOS) NECO Chapter. She is an active member of British Columbia Doctors of Optometry (BCDO) and Canadian Women in Eye Care (CWEC).
Dr. Truong strives to create an inclusive environment for everyone. She feels tremendous gratitude being an optometrist, as it allows her to create small moments with her patients and impact their quality of life through excellent eye care. She is excited to have the West 10th Eyes team on her side to help create these moments!
Outside of the exam room, Dr. Truong enjoys exploring what great nature British Columbia has to offer through backpacking, bouldering, running, and photography.
