How often should you have an eye exam performed?
For the average adult, once every 12 to 24 months is sufficient. It is also recommended that senior citizens have their eyes examined annually.
If you are diabetic or are seeking laser vision correction, you may require eye exams more frequently.
Ask your Optometrist during your appointment which frequency is appropriate for you.
How long is an eye exam?
A typical eye exam averages around 60 minutes. Please budget a total of 90 minutes for your first exam as there is intake paperwork and other formalities required prior to the exam beginning.
